Castle Creations is thrilled to be a proud sponsor of the 2025 Poor Boys RC Speed Run Challenge—an all-online, grassroots showdown that brings together RC enthusiasts for one purpose: pure, unfiltered speed.
This year’s event takes us back to where many of us began—with the legendary Tamiya Hornet and Grasshopper chassis. In honor of the Hornet’s 40th anniversary, racers from around the world are pushing these vintage platforms to the limit, dialing in gearing, swapping setups, and chasing the fastest run in three classes: Brushed - Brushless and Open Class (the video links below define the rules for each class).
Hosted by Poor Boys RC on YouTube, this virtual speed battle unfolds every Sunday through August 3rd, with leaderboard updates, crazy mods, and maybe even a few spectacular wipeouts along the way. And yes—Castle is on board with prizes and support for the top competitors.
Whether you’re racing, watching, or wrenching in the garage thinking “I should enter this thing…”, we invite you to follow the action, root for your favorite builds, and celebrate the RC community’s wild creativity.
